We've worked for over 15 years in Peru with small coffee producers. Through our travels we've visited multiple regions of the country and became interested in the cultivation and trade of organic ancient grains. Sadly, we realized that the same the industry was plagued with rampant food fraud and exploitation.
There was only one way for us to operate in Peru...to create our own operation so that we could have our people on the fields and in the communities where we would be working. Our crew began doing research by traveling to 12 communities to meet with community leaders, producers, and cooperatives. We now work in 3 different communities and manage our own export company in Peru (Mayorga Peru SAC) to ensure the integrity of our supply chain and to maintain a personal relationship with our producers.
