What Is Decaf Coffee?

Decaf coffee has had most of its caffeine removed before roasting. It is not completely caffeine-free, but it contains a small fraction of what a regular cup does. For people who want the coffee experience without the stimulant effect, decaf is a real and satisfying option. Quality comes down to two things: the coffee itself and the process used to remove the caffeine.

All of our organic decaffeinated coffee works across every brewing method. Drip, pour over, French press, espresso, and cold brew all produce excellent results. Match your grind to your method, use water between 195 and 205F, and keep your ratio consistent, Both options work for cold brew with a coarse grind and a 12 to 24 hour steep.

What does decaf coffee taste like?

Good decaf tastes like coffee. Our Decaf Cubano has the same full body, vanilla notes, and smoky finish as the regular Cubano. Our Decaf Honduras Capucas is smooth and clean with a balanced medium roast profile.

Is decaf coffee less acidic?

Acidity comes from origin and roast level, not caffeine. Our decaf options are both low acidity because of how we source and roast, not because they are decaf.

Is decaf coffee good for espresso?

Yes. Decaf Cubano pulls well as espresso. Full body, low acidity, smooth bold finish. Same with Decaf Honduras Capucas.

Is organic decaf coffee healthier than regular coffee?

Organic decaf avoids the chemical solvents used in conventional processing. Swiss Water processed organic decaf coffee gives you reduced caffeine without adding anything else to the equation.

How should I store decaf coffee beans?

Airtight container, away from heat, light, and moisture. Do not freeze it. Buy in quantities you will finish within a few weeks of the roast date.

Does decaf coffee contain antioxidants?

Yes. Antioxidants in coffee come from the coffee itself, not the caffeine. Decaf retains most of those compounds, and Swiss Water processing preserves them better than chemical methods.

Can you drink decaf coffee at night?

Yes. If caffeine disrupts your sleep but you still want a cup in the evening, decaf is the practical answer. Our Decaf Honduras Capucas is a smooth medium roast that works well at night.

Is decaf coffee safe for sensitive stomachs?
