The V60’s unique cone shape encourages an evenly layered bed of coffee grounds, with spiral ridges and an open flow that allows for versatile brewing. Pour water faster to achieve a light, delicate profile, or slow it down for a richer, more robust flavor. A perfect choice for home brewing!

Brewing using a Hario V60 is simple! Just follow these five simple steps:

1. Rinse paper filter with water to remove any paper taste.
2. Preheat V60 by rinsing with hot water; insert the filter.
3. Grind coffee just before brewing to a medium (auto-drip) grind; adjust coarseness if water doesn’t drain.
4. Add ground coffee to filter:
   - #1 filter: 8g coffee to 5oz (150ml) water
   - #2 filter: 16g coffee to 10oz (300ml) water
5. Pour water at ~200°F:
   - Wet grounds to let coffee “bloom” (wait 30–45 seconds).
   - Pour remaining water in thirds, in a circular motion.
   - Total brew time: about 2:30 minutes.
